OPEN RAN INDUSTRY ALLIANCE

ORIA

The OPEN RAN INDUSTRY ALLIANCE (ORIA) was established in
August 2023 in Korea and is a public-private non-profit organization.

In response to the growth of the Open RAN market and the widespread adoption of Open RAN around the world,
the Ministry of Science and ICT announced ways to implement the Open RAN Promotion Policy.
Against this background, ORIA has been established to create an Open RAN industry ecosystem based
on collaboration between the public and private sectors, large and small companies.
ORIA supports the commercialization of Open RAN technologies and helps domestic companies enter the Korean and
international markets in line with government policy.

Mission & Goal

ORIA supports Korea to become an
advanced nation in Open RAN
technology and products.
It’s mission is threefold.

One is to participate in planning and coordinating the government’s Open RAN R&D roadmap to contribute to enhancing domestic businesses’ technological competitiveness.
The second is to take a leading role in domestic and international demonstration, interoperability verification, trial projects to generate new Open RAN demand, and hosting & supporting international events.
The third is to engage in the establishment of an international certification system and standardization process for Open RAN equipment, thereby creating a foundation for entering the global market.
